The Chronicles of Daneosaur...

March 1, 2007

Wow -- this webpage has really suffered over the last two years. With a great girlfriend, work, and too much homework from school, I have not had time to adequately maintain this website. Much of it is now out of date. I will try to get it back in order soon!

July 14, 2005

My girlfriend and I have been together for just over a month. My craziness for her has obviously come at the cost of this website -- it's been quite a while since I updated it. Oh well. :)

June 12, 2005

Yaaaah, I have a new girlfriend. She is super sweet, sensationally smart, very cute and all a guy like me could wish for. :) I really really hope this goes well.

Having not heard from my doctor, I am assuming my knee is not broken. It is just a torn ligment. Whew, a relief, although this will take some time to heal.

June 1, 2005

About two or three weeks ago I turned around in my swivel chair at work only to hit the lower portion of my leg on an open drawer in my desk. Since then my leg has hurt whenever pressure was applied to my knee. After a visit to the doctor today it seems that it is probably a torn ligament or a broken bone. I will know more on Friday or Monday when X-rays come back.

This is the second day with ants in my place. I woke up to having ants in my bed -- not a pleasant awakening. The evening finished off at a nice rooftop suite in Victoria's downtown with a restrained party with friends.

May 27, 2005

Today is my last day at this job. My coworkers held a bit of a drink-a-thon for me where I could not empty my glass before having it refilled for me again. Ugh -- in situations like this I must be careful about my alcohol consumption. Look for a rant/rave around getting drunk on this site soon!

Yaaaaaah! I got a new job! Yaaaaaah! And it pays decently too!!!

In BC there is a vote coming up on Single Transferable Vote (also known as BC STV). Don't forget to vote in this election and referendum. Some of you have had questions about STV. You can read more at these links:

Holy Crap! I only have 18 more days of full employment in my contract. What am I going to do? If you know of a job, please let me know.

April 28, 2005

So today was my birthday. Besides some cool gifts and cake, it was a rather plain affair. Kudos to all my friends who remembered.

April 24, 2005

Having done a media blitz recently, including a full page article in The Province and in smaller local papers, here is the hour I spent on CBC Radio's BC Almanac. Listen to Part 1. Listen to Part 2. The last few minutes are missing -- sorry -- but no worries, you did not miss much.

On-Going

I think I might do too much for the girls that I like. When I am crushing on a girl, it seems like she can ask me to do anything and I'll do it. I'll put my job on the line, postpone my sleep, damage my health and make many more sacrifices. In the recent past I have done the following for girls that I have or have had crushes on:

Am I doing too much? When in the world is all this work going to pay off? Where is that special someone? * sigh *

April 16, 2005 and April 9, 2005

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend Vaisakhi celebrations in Surrey. It was a very enlightening and heart-warming experience. To my surprise, plenty of food was given out for free – rarely in my life have I experienced so much generosity. On Vaisakhi, generosity is a way of giving back and saying thanks for the past year. In my life, I have rarely experienced so much generosity. It makes me feel that Western/European Society really should look at itself to see how greedy and selfish many of us have become.

This is no April Fools joke. I got into Law School at the University of Calgary. Hopefully I can afford to go!

Does it ever seem like your workplace or society functions like this?

I learned an amazing and cool concept today. According to the travel magazine in front of me on my Air Canada Flight, Taipei is the new spot for trendsetters on the planet. In the Taiwanese capital, where standing out is all the rage, the Taiwanese have chosen one really interesting way to stand out when it comes to selecting their partners. Apparently 24-hour bookstores are the new black when it comes to picking up members of the opposite or same sex as the case may be. These modern bibliotheca come equipped with mellow grooves or riveting beats, drink bars and the like. As readers enjoy literature, they will from time to time glance up at others to see what their reading. Book-scenesters will approach each other by making conversation around the book one is reading!

I really wish we had this in Canada!

I am staying in the Pan-Pacific hotel in Vancouver. It is the nicest hotel I have ever been in and my view is incredible. I can see both North Vancouver and downtown from my kick-ass room. I worked at a career fair today and it was tons of fun. I not only met very cool people, I believe that I made connections that could heavily influence my (career) future.

February 15, 2005

I broke up with my girlfriend today. I don't regret going out with her. She was a good girl with a big heart. I, however, felt a need to move on and I am happy that I did so.

January 2, 2005

My webpage is open to the world!

December 10, 2004

A scary article to read about the war in Iraq.

A long and interesting speech on unions and labour in Canada.

Sunday, November 7, 2004:

Getting Fat: After having lost 40 pounds, staying at my parents place has resulted in me gaining 10 back. This is largely a result of a non-stop food supply and a lack of exercise opportunities.

Thought:

If there is a possibility, no matter how slim, that something can happen and if the conditions for that possibility to exist continue to be met infinitely, that something will eventually happen.

Thursday September 16, 2004: For the first time in 10 years I was today actually asked out by a girl! This has been a huge confidence booster for me. She even told me I was hot! Maybe this is partially a result of my latest drive to become fit? On top of all that, this girl is cute.

Sign of the Day. Seen while door-knocking on Tuesday, May 18th, 2004 while in Rainier Valley in Seattle, Washington. "Forget the dog. Beware of Owner" with a big picture of a shot gun beside the sign.

Bumper Sticker of the Day. Seen while driving North to Snohomish on Interstate-5 on Sunday, May 16, 2004. "No   B U _ _    S H _ _   in 2004." Seattle is a very strong anti-Bush area. I have been continuously surprised by just how much people in the Pacific Northwest dislike Bush.

A few weeks ago this cartoon appeared in the Globe and Mail - rather amusing given my current job.
