If you read the previous article, you'd know I had a lot of trouble at the border when I arrived at the Peach Arch Border Crossing at some time close to 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2004.
Today, Thursday, June 10, 2004 I tried to cross the border again. This time I brought my supervisor with me to make sure that I actually got across and to clear up any misunderstandings.
Our initial arrival was at shortly past 2 pm. Upon arrival we immediately asked to speak to immigration. We did that, but they could not help us clear up the situation since I had to deal with the same officer(s). This officer did not start duty until 4 pm, so we had 2 hours to kill. About ½ an hour was killed waiting in line to cross the Canadian border again.
At 4 pm we
returned to the border where we met with the immigration officer. He read over a
new contract and new papers and after about 20 minutes, he let us through!
This is the story of how I return to the United States.
